Money Money Money - Big Spenders to Win?!

Top EPL clubs such as Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham are soending to buy success this season - ans appeals to them to keep the sould of soccer in mind and not just look at the cash flow. Still rmbr where Leeds came and let off since their heavy spending? - they are sliding down their ranks constantly. Now they are in administration and languishing in Division 3.

The top EPL clubs' money-no-object buys have resulted in some expensive players putting their signatures on the dotted line. Top summer transfers are:

  • Fernando Torres - 20.2 million pounds, Athletico Madrid to Liverpool
  • Owen Hargreaves - 17.3 million pounds, Bayern Munich to Man Utd
  • Darren Bent - 16.5 million pounds, Charlton to Spurs
  • Nani - 16 million pounds, Sporting Lisbon to Man Utd
  • Anderson - 14 million pounds, Porto to Man Utd
  • Florent Malouda - 13.5 million pounds, Lyon to Chelsea
  • Ryan Babel - 11.5 million pounds, Ajax to Liverpoll
  • Craig Gordon - 9 million pounds, Hearts to Sunderland
  • Rolando Bianchi - 8.8 million pounds, Reggina to Man City
  • Nigel Reo-Coker - 8.5 million pounds, West Ham to Aston Villa
And my personal choices to win the "most valuable player" award for the most expensive summer transfers are: Owen Hargreaves, Florent Malouda, Craig Gordon and Fernando Torres.

Cheers,
Sean =)
